G10 Law, APLC is a boutique AV-Rated real estate, land use, and business, law firm seeking to hire a full-time Legal Assistant. We offer a positive, yet challenging, work environment that is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to further their growth and development. This position is on-site in our Carlsbad office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of a variety of legal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, deeds, mortgages, memoranda of leases, etc.;
  • Initiate, draft, edit, and finalize correspondence, agreements, and/or other materials;
  • Proofread material, including correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents;
  • Assist in preparation of form documents and create signature ready documents;
  • Obtain electronic signatures via DocuSign;
  • Help attorneys on an as needed basis such as with analysis and research as directed;
  • Significant client contact – by telephone, e-mail, and in person;
  • Regularly update and maintain correspondence with clients, attorneys, and other parties;
  • Coordinate the daily and weekly tasks as part of internal checklists, ensuring all are completed in a timely manner;
  • Calendar and schedule meetings, consultations, and appointments for attorneys; and
  • Perform supporting functions, such as scanning documents, e-mailing documents to clients, maintaining client files, inputting information into management system, following and managing checklists, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5)years of experience as a legal assistant in a transactional or land use legal group;
  • Understanding of commercial and residential real estate purchase, lease, and lending transactions;
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail;
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage tasks independently and cooperatively, working with multiple attorneys and legal professionals;
  • A self-starter with the ability to multitask at a high level, showing resourcefulness and the ability to problem solve;
  • Excellent writing, editing, analytical and communication skills;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Adobe;
  • Experience with reviewing title report, title insurance, and surveys a plus;
  • Familiarity with land use law a plus;
  • Professional demeanor, dress, and speech essential; and
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
